1. for books 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of the Jeeves & Wooster series to magically fall in my lap. *cries*
2. gay serial killer fic. Franzi said that I should ask you all for it, but really what I would most like is for you all to go watch Strangers on a Train (Instant watch on Netflix!) and then report back to me with squee & slash and very smart thoughts on whether the homoerotica is the driving sinister force of the film, or whether the homoerotica is a necessary outlet and reaction against the *real* driving sinister force of the film, aka restrictive heterosocial repression, etc. etc.
3. for something nice to happen.
4. for you all to……….. set something on fire and think of me today? It’s GUY FAWKES DAY, COME ON.
5. to know that as far as the balance of this past year is concerned, I’ve come out ahead and not behind.

I want dirty, dirty, fuck-your-brother-and-still-feel-perfectly-all-right-about-it-while-you’re-doing-it-again-in-the-morning Thom/Rookcest please. In canon, post-canon, I don’t care. (If you want to write in-canon, anywhere’s great, but I’d LOVE to see that amazing UST-filled balcony scene at the ball taken to its logical conclusion. Guh.) Anything with Have and the other (remaining) DC members would also be great, but really, just have fun! I’m easy when it comes to these two characters: I just want porn! 
But I’ll also, if slash isn’t your thing, be perfectly happy with more of the conflict-ridden dynamics that fill the books, especially if set post-canon. 
Lloyd Alexander – Vesper Holly

I love Vesper – she’s my favorite ass-kicking heroine. And I really, really want to see shameless, down-and-dirty, ruin-your-childhood Vesper/Dr. Helvitius porn. Dubcon is okay, but I’d really like to see Vesper, who’s such an amazingly sensual character, just get it on with the ever-suave Dr. Helvitius just because she wants to. (As part of a mind game? Who knows!) .Honestly, though, Vesper and Brinnie on adventures and Vesper generally being brilliant and hot and sexy and putting the ‘arch’ in archaeology would make me really happy. I love Dr. Helvitius, though, and if you can find it in your heart to revive him after the last book (what’s a little drowning to the great doctor, anyway?) I’d be awfully pleased to watch him sparring with Vesper again. In any case, if you write this, please just have fun with the characters and the series and I’ll be elated!!!! <3

- Justine Larbalestier – Liar: I just did a book giveaway for this book, that is how much I love it! And if you have read it you know exactly how much potential for incredible fanfic it has.
- Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (album): they approved albums for this year, which means that I can nominate JEFF MANGUM/ANNE FRANK FOR YULETIDE DDDDDD My character list for this album made me so happy. Jeff Mangum! The Communist’s Daughter! The King of Carrot Flowers! The 2-Headed Boy! Protagonist, “Oh Comely!” Antagonist, “Oh Comely!” Anne Frank! happiness!
- Once On This Island (musical): This is one of my favorite musicals. It’s one that has lived with me as I’ve grown up, and I want to live in the universe for just a little more. There is a handful of adorable gen fic for this at ff.net which makes me ridiculously happy.
- Richard Connell – “The Most Dangerous Game”: For 2 years running I have promised myself I would nominate this and then forgotten. I used to sit in tutoring EVERY DAY while I taught that short story and think about how much I wanted fanfic for it. 
And by “fanfic” I mean “dirty gay serial killer porn.”
- Requiem mass (any): After I nominated NMH, I started thinking about how many transformative works have been based off instrumental or other classical works. We already have opera fandoms in the archive, and songs. Why not choral works? I performed 2 requiem masses this year and I have been thinking about them a lot. And the Schnittke & Brahms Requiems are my favorite classical works, period. For the “characters” of this category, I nominated a bunch of different requiems – I think I chose the Verdi, the Schnittke, the Mozart, the Faure, the Durufle, the Brahms, the Rutter, the Stravinsky, the Britten, and the Lloyd Webber. Because they all *are* different characters; they each live and breathe as different beings and transform the original subject of the requiem in profoundly different ways. I’m really hopeful that anyone who writes this will go interesting places with it!
- Strangers on a Train: this is my favorite Hitchcock movie. It is probably the whole and sole reason for my enduring love for gay serial killers. I have asked for this fandom at least 2 years running. Maybe this will be the year we finally get Yuletide fic for this fandom, because seriously, the world needs more Guy/Bruno love! The odd thing to me is that there’s always enduring interest for Rope slash in Yuletide each year, but none for Strangers on a Train, even though SoaT is a much better film in so many ways. I kind of wish Leopold/Loeb RPF was just its own category, or maybe just “serial killer – RPF” DDD. Perhaps then the amazing Robert Walker might receive his Yuletide due for creating the most creepy, charismatic, loveable, memorable gay serial killer ever.
I am so pleased about this list! The only thing I am sad about is that somewhere in there I nominated and then un-nominated Vesper Holly. OH VESPER HOLLY. I have nominated this fandom 3 years running and never gotten it, and I figured I wouldn’t get it this year either, so I shouldn’t waste a nomination on it when so many other things were calling to me. Maybe next year.
This is the first year I’ve ever taken such care with my nominations! And I am actually really happy I did because I feel like thinking it through like this means that I actually have a decent shot at getting fic that the writer has a really enjoyable time writing. Also, I have a book, a musical, a movie, an album, a short story, and choral works in there! it is genre-licious! Also in each of these canons there is potential for het, femslash, slash, and potentially genderbending & even species-bending.
Finally, I am so pleased that there is double – no, actually, TRIPLE potential for gay serial killing in this list. GAY SERIAL KILLINNNNG. *runs around*
But – problem: how am I ever to decide upon just 4 requests out of the bunch? D:

I love fictional gay serial killers. Cruising, Rope, The Watcher, Apartment Zero, Dexter, Death Note. I am fascinated by them and the subtexts they represent and the hideous contexts that surround them and I just. sldkjf;d. I love them, okay, shut up.
This movie? This movie is why.
I love this movie so much. I love how blatantly seductive Hitch lets Robert Walker be, I love how crazy and enthralling and charming he is, I love how Farley Granger (who is not-so-secretly bisexual himself) just lets Guy be so fascinated by Bruno, even and up to the end, I love how fantastic and strong the whole first scene of this film is and how it’s basically one big giant coded pick-up happening right in front of the audience, I love how they are toning down the homoerotica from the original Highsmith novel, I love how just. Robert Walker is amazing, okay. And Farley Granger, you are a sex symbol among men and a hundred years from now after people have forgotten all about the word “metrosexual” they will be watching this film and going, see that? That is ideal manhood.
ALSO THERE IS TENNIS. There is gay serial killing and THERE IS GAY TENNIS.
Strangers on a Train, you are my first great gay crush.
