So, Aja, I want to keep following what you have to say wherever you say it. On the other hand, I happen to like using a certain other site as a RSS feed aggregator. The problem is that when I try to enter http://vesperholly.wordpress.com/feed/ as a feed to follow, I get “Data not XML formatted -
The URL provided does not appear to contain XML formatted data.”

I suspect I’m missing the point here and that you probably would rather I didn’t use That Other Site to follow my RSS feeds. I may well not do so forever, but I want to use it for feed reading for now. No conclusion really, just grrrrrrrrrr.

reply: I am so confused about the RSS feed! I am not sure why it will not work on LJ! Val said it was working fine for her, and she typed it in precisely as you did. :/ I do not have any objection to anyone feeding the blog to LJ, but I am so helpless when it comes to RSS. They never actually transmit things in a readable format for me. I wish i could provide more help, but i am still new to all this.

I should probably say ‘first!’ here, but I have never been that kind of girl. *insert talk-to-hand-YM-emoticon here*

Well, hey there! Like Chris up above, there’s no way I’m losing track of you, even if I have to wander all over these tube thingies. I now have not one but five blogs that I’m not using, yay!, and am now ready to spring in any direction or even several at once. :)

I saw your YouTube and hugely admire your style. Silly t-shirts won’t even burn properly; clearly a sign of shoddiness at the core of things!

The deletions feel like the start of a serious divide-and-conquer strategy and really profound bad faith. The latest note to p_p — in effect, “you dodged the bullet this time, but watch yourself” — is just chilling.

Anyway, mainly I just wanted to stop by and salute and wish you well. I hope this gets some real strategic thought, too — a consensus destination, an easy interface for people intuitively used to LJ, and an aggressive effort to provide leading-edge content could all help spark a directed migration rather than letting the outrage bubble up but dissipate. After all, fandom moved to LJ in 2002 because of a pull more than a push — LJ was where the party was. I am, sadly, just a follower rather than a content creator, but I look forward to voting with my feet.

I have moved my stuff here (I did your poll in your LJ by the way) although I will keep my LJ just in case things end up well and we can go back as we were.

For now, I hope we can keep in contact through here. I’m still finding my way around, but it looks good. And dude, I know HP is over and all, but it was the best ending JK could have chosen, the grand finale and I’m still in awe at the sheer genius. Not necessairily the end of the world (although it might be for Harry’s son, who will be the laughing stock of Hogwarts with a name like that. Bless him.)
