This website was created to house fiction developed as part of the_eros_affair livejournal community. We are a part of the Harry/Draco slash fandom, and exist as part of the greater livejournal contingent of the Harry Potter fandom.

the_eros_affair was formed as a gift for a very special fandomer, Cher.

Last Christmas, I received a special gift from Australia: a book of sex cheques.

The cheques were made even more unusual by the fact that they were already filled out. Even the blank cheques were filled out--by Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy.

The giver of this wonderful gift was Cher, who gave it to me with her blessing, and encouraged me to use it for inspiration in writing fiction, either individually or communally.

Through her gift, The Eros Affair was born. Initially formed in January, the community consisted of about 80 invited members of the H/D community, who were given their choice of scenarios from the list of cheques provided in the booklet. When we ran out of scenarios, we invented our own. Only about 30 of the cheque scenarios listed come directly from the book. Many more are our own creation.

The community was kept secret through the months because we wanted it to be a surprise for Cher. Cher is leaving for a long-anticipated visit to Nepal, which will among other things include a trek up a little hill called Mt. Everest, on Sept. 10, and we may not be hearing her for a long time. This trip is a huge and long-held dream of hers, and we are so happy it is becoming a reality for her. She has been a much-loved and constantly supportive member of the H/D fandom community, and we wish her well.

Update: In 2006, The Eros Affair was a proud member of the the Collaborative Research and Media Practice critical study, a project of the Integrated Media department of RMIT University at Melbourne.
